Originally purchased from the bank as a speculative investment, this property very quickly became the owners’ most challenging nesting project. In order to accommodate their growing needs, the family sought to leave their older yet charming home for a larger space. The rowhouse was acquired as little more than a brick shell with floor plates. The team at R. Michael Cross Design Group excavated the basement and converted the home into a two-family flat. This residence, now pursuing LEED certification, evolved from a venture to a home for a family of four.
